Danube Sounds has reached its biggest milestone: the final four songs with extremely diverse and astonishing background stories are released on the Danube Sounds EP published by Banana Records. All the songs were created in a unique cross-border collaboration and are available from 27th of August. Devoted European music professionals (musicians, producers, artist managers etc.) channeled their knowledge and energy into the two-day event where the final four groups of ten nationalities gathered together and recorded their international track with two world famous producers: Steve Dub and Mo Hausler.
The Anahit: I Want Your Ice Cream (HU, NL, PL), Dear Elephant: Smells Like Thunder (IRL, S, RO), Kiss the Gambler: Sanctuary (A, AUS, IT, HU) and MOYRE: Los Angeles Sunset (A, HU, SLO) were created and recorded under the same conditions. The four summer hits that have seen the light are all composed by international teams, who only talked online before arriving in Budapest. These collaborations have opened new paths for the artists: one of the groups have already transformed into an indie band, other duos and trios are thinking also about future featurings. Danube Sounds achieved its goal: it has built strong bridges above borders, demonstrating perfectly how art conquers the limitations of the pandemic.
The Danube Sounds program provided the opportunity for European musicians to take part in a special and hybrid (online and offline) cross-border collaboration where selected teams get to record their new song and participate in workshops on A38 Ship - a concert venue and cultural hub in Budapest. The event took place on 29th and 30th of June on A38 Ship - two hot summer days filled with mentoring, recording, focused work, international bonding and limitless creativity. The tracks were recorded in SuperSize Studio while all the other activities (press photo, workshops, networking) were held on A38 Ship.
